A huge congratulations to all of the players, parents (grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings), and fellow coaches on our hugely successful 2018/2019 season in City League! Through all of your hard work, sacrifice and dedication to our boys you have helped to make it the most memorable hockey season for not only myself, but for Nikolaj, and his family as well. The boys have faced adversity on quite a few occasions this season but have always refused to give up and though it didn't always look like it, they were able to, more often than not, come together as a team and fight through whatever anyone threw at us, all season long; and because of everyones support through all the hard times we faced, the boys were able to pull it off against a very determined team 5 this week to become the Lloydminster Atom City League Playoff Champions! We knew it wasn't going to be easy after the tough competition we faced during Minor Hockey Week, during which the boys pulled off another impressive win streak to take the title of Atom Minor Hockey Week Champions as well.
I just wanted to say that I couldn't be more proud of this group of not just the boys, but all of your families who have put so much into this season to make it a fun and memorable one for the kids. I have seen what looks to be some lasting bonds and friendships made throughout this season and hope that many more have been made between us parents as well. So, in closing, I just wanted to remind you all to take a minute and allow yourselves a (selfish? :)) few moments to sit back and enjoy this everlasting achievement you helped your kid(s) to accomplish this season.
