 Clarification of Masking Guidelines for Coaches 

There has been some confusion generated around the use of Masks for LMHA Coaches due to the announcement made by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) in Conjunction with the Government of Saskatchewan (GOS) announcement of tighter COVID-19 restrictions that were effective earlier this week (Monday, November 16^th).

After reviewing all the announcements, guidelines, letters and the Hockey Alberta “Return to Hockey” document, LMHA would like to communicate the following to clarify the Masking Guidelines. These are the same guidelines we have been following prior to the Nov. 16^th announcement.

Due to Cohort numbers, the nature of this program and the constant interaction required with the skaters:

• All Coaches, on ice helpers & team staff must practice physical distancing and wear masks in the dressing room, on the bench and on the ice. No coaches are part of the team cohort. The cohort numbers apply to the players only. Maximum 50 in a cohort.

U9

Due to Cohort numbers, the nature of this program and frequent interaction required with the skaters:

• All Coaches, on ice helpers & team staff must wear masks in the dressing room, on the bench and on the ice unless they can safely physically distance. No coaches are part of the team cohort. The cohort numbers apply to the players only. Maximum 50 in a cohort.

U11, U13, U15 & U18

• All Coaches, on ice helpers & team staff must follow the Hockey Alberta Return to Hockey guidelines for Cohorting or Physical Distancing.
