R&R 4th Annual FREE Goalie Camp Applications Now Open
Hello Goalies & Families!
The R&R Empowering Society is thrilled to announce our 4th Annual FREE Goaltending Camp, taking place at the Terwillegar Rec Centre in Edmonton, AB, on July 24th, 25th, and 26th.
The R&R Empowering Society of Alberta is a non-profit organization founded by Tracy Stark in memory of her sons, Ryder and Radek. Tragically, Ryder and Radek were taken far too soon on December 19, 2016. Both boys loved sports, especially hockey. After their passing, Tracy and her husband Brent received incredible support from the community, which inspired the creation of the R&R Empowering Society. Today, the organization works to help youth across Alberta participate in sports and life-enhancing activities when financial barriers might otherwise stand in the way.
About the Camp
This year’s camp is open to 36 goaltenders in the U9–U18 age groups.
Applications are now open and will close on March 31, 2026. While we wish we could welcome every applicant, spaces are limited. Participants will be selected based on financial need and family circumstances. All applicants will be notified of their status by April 20, 2026, and a waitlist will be created for those not initially selected.
What to Expect
U9 Goalies
- 2 on-ice sessions
- Dryland training
- Goalie-specific activities over 2 days
- Lunch provided
U11–U18 Goalies
- 5 on-ice sessions
- Dryland training
- Mind & Motion mental training sessions
- Lunch and snacks provided each day
All goalies will receive instruction from qualified and experienced goaltending coaches from across Alberta.
We also want this camp to be more than just training. Goalies will receive lunch each day, and we will kick things off with a Friday evening family meal and get-together where participants, families, and coaches can connect.
We will also be hosting a parent session designed to support families in understanding the unique challenges of the goaltending position and how to best support their young athletes.
To help make travel easier for families coming from outside Edmonton, we have partnered with Edmonton’s Best Hotels. Families who stay at one of their partner hotels will receive $225 back in a prepaid Mastercard, which will be emailed to them after they check in.
Our goal has always been to create something special for young goalies — a camp that combines quality development, mentorship, and connection in an environment where kids feel supported, welcomed, and excited to be part of it.
