2026-2027 U13 Welcome Letter

Hello U13 Families,

Welcome to the 2026/27 season.  Attached you will find a welcome letter for the upcoming season with details on the evaluations and information regarding the steps to follow. Also attached is a schedule applicable to the upcoming evaluation time slots. Player groups will be released at a date closer to the evaluation weekend.

Some extra information headed into the evaluations weekend.  There is a possibility of your child changing sessions through the weekend, therefore session times are subject to change. You will be contacted directly if there is a session time change for your skater. Once your child has been assigned a jersey number, under no circumstances will they switch jerseys or numbers with another player. Evaluators use these numbers to properly evaluate the players and if the numbers get switched, the evaluations will be inaccurate. Please come to the jersey table situated outside the dressing room hallway at the Servus Sports Center to pick up your jersey and figure out which dressing room you will be headed to.

As mentioned in the welcome letter, parent involvement is key to the success of the hockey season. On a date closer to the evaluations, there will be a link provided to sign up for volunteer spots for the weekend. When the link is released, please take the time to sign up for a position if you are able. Without volunteer cooperation and spots being filled, we will not be able to carry out the evaluation activities.

Also, below is a link for coach’s and manager’s registration. If you haven’t already, please take the time to complete the form if you are interested in a coaching or manager position. We will need to ensure we have a sufficient number of those positions filled to get teams on the ice for the season. Also, below is a link to the requirements for coaching from Hockey Alberta. If you are interested in a coaching position, please take the time to look at the coaching requirements. LMHA, in conjunction with Hockey Alberta will be holding a number of coaching clinics in the coming months. If you require training, please sign up for one of the training sessions mentioned in the email below. Below is also a link that will allow you to sign up for the sessions. Additional to coaching requirements, all team coaching staffs will require one person to hold a safety certification
