Grouping to Start Season
Pond Start of Season - this Wednesday (Archie Miller)
Everyone - I hope everyone is enjoying their year. We really have an amazing group of kids and volunteers this year which is fantastic. I just wanted to quickly touch base on a few things.
Ice Times
We have had a number of new players over the past few weeks join our league. In order to accommodate all the new players, we will be adding a 3rd ice slot starting this Friday.
On Friday, the ice times will be:
4:30 - 5:30pm Group #1 - all players currently skating in Group #1 will remain in group #1.
5:45 - 6:45pm Group #2 - this will be all players who were skating with the smaller line in Group #2 as well as any players from Group #1 that want some extra ice time.
7:00 - 8:00pm Group #3 - this will be all the players who were skating with the bigger line in Group #2.
Wednesday
6:30 - 7:30pm Group #1
7:45 - 8:45pm Group #2
9:00 - 10:00pm Group #3
I would really encourage any players from Group #1, who would like to get more ice time, to skate with Group #2 as well as Group #1 (2 hours of ice time per night). If we start to see too many kids in Group #2, then we may place some restrictions.
Wednesday ice times are still being finalized but they will be very close to the current Wednesday times. I will send out a note once we have them finalized.
Volunteers
Benches - if there are any parents out there that could help open the doors on the bench for the kids, it would really be appreciated. Some nights there may only be 1-2 parent volunteers on the ice and it would be really helpful for a parent to help open the gates for the kids. This helps ensure that all kids get fair playing time.
50/50’s - the 50/50 tickets are going to be available to everyone on Friday of next week. The oldest player from each family will be issued one booklet of 10 tickets to sell in the minor hockey 50/50 draw. Parents will need to pay for the booklet when it’s issued to them ($200) and then you sell, and keep, the money when you sell the tickets. Once you have sold all of your tickets, we will collect the ticket stubs and enter them into the draw. The draws will take place after Christmas.
Goalies
If anyone has a player who is interested in playing net, please let me know. Now that we have 3 groups, we need a couple more goalies to ensure that we have goalies for every session.
