Chevy Good Deeds Cup

Nov. 27, 2019

Peewee City Team #1 is participating in the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup again this season and they are looking for your support!

This season Peewee City #1 has chosen to support Project Sunrise and their new mental health initiative "GAME PLAN-Sports Edition" with the goal of winning the $100,000 prize for our community. More information on the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup can be found here: Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup | Chevrolet Canada

Game Plan is a FREE comprehensive mental health program that promotes positive mental health for our young athletes.

The program is designed to assist athletes, coaches & team staff as well as parents & billets:

  • learn about mental health, mental illness and substance use.
  • build their skills to enhance their mental well-being and manage stress.
  • recognize the warning signs & support someone who is experiencing a mental health or substance problem.
  • learn where to go for resources & support.

The team kicked off their support with an advertising blitz on Saturday November 23rd. Our local Ulmer Chev lent them 4 trucks to travel around the city posting information about the program on billboards in city facilities and at Lakeland College.  Amanda from Ulmer Chev even helped to shuttle players around. Thank you Amanda! Kim from Narra studios joined them to take pictures as well. It was a true community event in support of a great cause.

Peewee City #1 has already signed up for their FREE Game Plan Session with Reid Coleman, Game Plan Coach, and now they are challenging all other peewee teams (female, elite, NEAHL and City League) in Lloydminster and region to sign up for their FREE session too.  Bantam and midget teams are encouraged to register as well.

Their goal is to have all 11 peewee teams register before December 31st in order to have the results before the Good Deeds Cup submission deadline. Team sessions will be held in the new year.
